FG announces public holidays on Monday and Tuesday in observance of Eid al-Adha

The Federal Government announces Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 as public holidays to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy and peaceful celebration.


The Federal Government has proclaimed June 17 and June 18 as public holidays in 2024 in observance of Eid al-Adha.


Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced the vacations on behalf of the Federal Government and congratulated the Muslim Ummah worldwide and in Nigeria on this momentous day.


Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, signed a statement that included this declaration.


Tunji-Ojo advised the Muslim Ummah to pray for the nation's unity, prosperity, and stability during this time, and to embrace the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).


The Minister restated the administration of President Bola Tinubu's commitment to protecting the lives and belongings of every Nigerian.


He went on to exhort all devout Muslims and Nigerians in general to support, collaborate, and work together with the president in his continuous endeavors to diversify the economy and quicken the country's recovery.


In addition to wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid al-Adha, the Minister gave all Nigerians advice on how to ensure that their country remains affluent for coming generations.
