The Copa America 2024 match between Ecuador and Jamaica takes place on Wednesday at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, Las Vegas, with Ecuador seeking to build on their previous victories over Jamaica in two friendly international matches.

Ecuador emerged victorious in their Group B encounter against Jamaica, winning 3-1 and boosting their chances of advancing to the knockout stages. This comes after a thrilling match where Ecuador withstood a dramatic comeback by Jamaica in the second half.

Ecuador's victory was secured through a penalty kick by 17-year-old Paez, who will join Premier League powerhouse Chelsea in July 2025, and a late breakaway goal by Alan Minda in stoppage time. Despite Jamaica's efforts, including a goal by veteran attacker Michail Antonio and a denied penalty claim, Ecuador emerged victorious.

The loss leaves Jamaica at the bottom of Group B with zero points after two games, and their fate may be decided by the outcome of Venezuela's match against Mexico on Thursday.

Ecuador's Moises Caicedo was named man of the match for his outstanding performance.

In the second half, Jamaica's Michail Antonio scored a goal, giving his team a glimmer of hope. However, Ecuador's Alan Franco avoided a penalty call after a VAR review, and Jamaica's chances of a comeback were dashed.

Alan Minda's late goal sealed Ecuador's victory, ensuring they took all three points from the match. With this win, Ecuador strengthens their position in Group B, while Jamaica faces an uphill battle to advance in the tournament.
