Switzerland kick-start their Euro 2024 campaign with a dominant 3-1 win over Hungary, thanks to goals from Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer, and Breel Embolo, leaving Hungary with an uphill task to progress in the tournament.

Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer, and Breel Embolo all scored goals as Switzerland defeated tournament underdogs Hungary 3-1 in Group A on Saturday to kick off their Euro 2024 campaign in spectacular fashion.

A struggling Hungary team was down 0–0 at the half until goals from Kwadwo Duah and Michel Aebischer gave the Swiss a dominant and well-deserved two goals. But the Hungarians improved in the second half and grabbed one back from Barnabas Varga on the second occasion at the request of the referee, setting up an exciting outcome.

However, it was not to be as Breel Embolo emerged from the bench to complete a thrilling first victory, leveling the score with Germany, the hosts, in Group A. Hungary have not lost a match since September 2022, and in order to advance in the tournament, they now need to overcome the hosts, Germany, by a margin of points.
