Edin Terzić officially leaves Borussia Dortmund, citing the need for a new person to lead the team's restart, following a successful tenure that included a DFB-Pokal victory and Champions League final appearance.

In an emotional statement, Edin Terzić has announced his departure from Borussia Dortmund, bringing an end to his ten-year association with the club. The former head coach, who led the team to a DFB-Pokal victory and a Champions League final, has decided to step down, paving the way for a new era at the Signal Iduna Park.

Terzić expressed his gratitude and pride in having had the opportunity to lead the club, but feels that a fresh perspective is needed to take the team forward. His decision comes after a conversation with the management following the Champions League final in Wembley.

He said: “Dear Borussians, even though it pains me greatly right now, I want to inform you that as of today, I will be leaving BVB. It was a tremendous honor to lead this great club to a DFB-Pokal victory and recently to a Champions League final.

“After our final in Wembley, I asked the management for a conversation because, after ten years at BVB, including five years in the coaching team and two and a half years as head coach, I feel that the upcoming restart should be led by a new person.”

During his tenure, Terzić has been instrumental in shaping the team's success, and his departure will be felt deeply by the players, staff, and fans.

However, his commitment to the club's future and recognition of the need for change demonstrates his dedication to Borussia Dortmund's continued growth.

As the Broussia Dortmund begins its search for a new head coach, they will undoubtedly be looking for someone who can build upon the foundations laid by Terzić. His legacy will be remembered fondly, and his contributions to the club's success will not be forgotten.

We wish Edin Terzić all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for the memories he has created at Borussia Dortmund.
