Bandits Kill Negotiator Who Delivered N16m Ransom in Kaduna
Bandits kill negotiator Abba, 27, after collecting N16m ransom and 3 motorcycles, citing his 'impolite behavior' during talks; family finds his body at designated spot.
In the Kaduna State region of Jere, bandits are said to have taken three motorcycles and N16 million in ransom before shooting and killing one Abba.
Abba was the negotiator, and the motorcycle is reported to have been for the release of the nine captives that the bandits had kidnapped.
According to reports, the robbers decided to assassinate 27-year-old Abba because of his impolite behavior toward them during the discussions.
Bandits attacked Unguwar lya in Jere on April 16, 2024, abducting nine people and later demanding a N30 million ransom for their freedom, with Abba serving as the intermediary.
According to eyewitnesses and a freed victim, the bandits' leader bound Abba with a rope and mercilessly shot at him after seizing the money and bikes, leaving him for dead.
The victim stated that the bandits' leader stated that they chose to murder Abba because he had been impolite to them throughout the ransom negotiations. The deceased's family was then instructed to go to a specific spot to collect his body.
