Fake Doctor Caught: Shakirudeen's Shocking Confession

SHAKIRUDEEN, a man from Ogun State, has confessed to posing as a medical practitioner, performing unauthorized surgeries, and forging certificates from Obafemi Awolowo University and the Medical and Dental Council.

Following a thorough investigation, Shakirudeen was arrested by the Zonal Anti-Piracy Unit, led by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos State. He was found to be the owner of Skylink Medical Centre, where he carried out his fraudulent activities for over three years.

Shakirudeen admitted to working as a nursing assistant at Jones Hospital for two and a half years before opening his own centre. Despite lacking the necessary qualifications and certifications, he claimed to follow proper procedures while conducting surgeries, putting patients' lives at risk.

The suspect confessed to performing an appendix surgery, revealing his alarming lack of medical expertise. He described his unorthodox methods, saying, “I do vital signs, abdominal scans, PCVs, then proceed with the surgery by cleaning with antiseptic and giving anesthetic injections.” This shocking admission highlights the danger posed by unqualified practitioners like Shakirudeen.

I use a surgical blade to cut the stomach, suction the fat, then the skin, and proceed to cutting the appendix.”

When asked why he was arrested, the suspected said, “I don't know because the patient survived and came back three months after. Also i deeply regret my actions as I don't have a certificate but only own an SSCE certificate from a Grammar School.

“I also charged N150,000 for the surgery. I have six workers, and I would like to repeat that I regret my actions.”

However, he urged others engaged in such actions to desist from them.
