UNN Suspends Lecturer Shown In a Viral Video With His Pants Down
DAVID Udo-Udom, a lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has been placed on indefinite leave by the university's administration due to allegations that he harassed a married female student sexually.
This is stated in a statement provided to newsmen on Tuesday in Nsukka, which was signed by Chief Okwun Omeaku, the institution's Public Relations Officer (PRO).
As per the NAN report, the institution has created a Disciplinary Panel to investigate the event, and its decision will determine the length of the indefinite suspension, which would take effect immediately.
He added that a video purportedly showed the concerned lecturer—a member of the General Studies division—harassing a female student.
According to the school spokesperson, sexual misconduct involving either staff or students would not be tolerated at UNN.
He said: “UNN is among the few universities in the country that has a sexual harassment policy, which guides the relationship between our staff and students.
“As a university, we are committed to protecting our students from any form of abuse and exploitation.
“The university management will not hesitate to punish Udoudom, according to our rules, if he is found guilty by our disciplinary panel.”
