Sen. Rabiu Ibrahim Of Kwara Has Passed Away
RAFIU Adebayo Ibrahim, a senator for Kwara State, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has passed on.
Ibrahim passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, April 17, in Abuja following a brief illness, according to a statement from his family.
Ibrahim attended the 8th National Assembly on behalf of Kwara South District.
He had served as the Senate Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions Committee Chairman.
According to the family statement: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved father, uncle, and brother, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.
“Senator Rafiu returned to his creator this morning, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and profound impact.
“We kindly request your prayers and support during this difficult time. His burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
“We pray Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Al-jannah Firdaus.”
The former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Professor Ali Ahmad, responded to Ibrahim's passing by expressing his profound shock.
In a statement issued through Steve Makinde, the media office spokesperson for Ahmad, he said that Ibrahim was a remarkable man who had an unwavering commitment to philanthropy and personal growth.
He continued by saying that his passing had left a huge void in the hearts of many people.
According to the statement, “I received with shock the sad news of the passing of our beloved PDP Chieftain Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who was said to be full of life just yesterday.
“Throughout his lifetime, Senator Rafiu has used his quest for personal development, scholarship, and philanthropy as a politician to put smiles on the faces of Kwara youths with the vibrant discharge of his role as the representative of his constituents. He was a loyal and great man.
“His passing is not only a loss to his friends, family, and associates, but also to the Saraki Dynasty in which he impacted many lives, the Kwara youths constituency, and the nation at large. No doubt, he lived a fulfilled life worth emulating. His legacies will be forever cherished and missed.
“I pray the families, friends, and associates of Senator Rafiu find solace in the enduring legacies he left behind. My heart and that of my family go to his family, friends, and entire Saraki dynasty.”
