Portugal Police Detain A Nigerian Who Fatally Stabbed His Roommate
FOLLOWING an argument in Portugal, a 24-year-old Nigerian man who has not yet been recognized killed his roommate, who was 22 years old.
The event occurred on Friday, April 19, at approximately 11 p.m. in the local lodging facility located on Rua do Bonfim in Porto.
The two Nigerian residents were reported to have been more tense, leading to a violent confrontation in which the elder man attacked the younger one with a sharp instrument.
The offender spent several hours in the room with the body before making an attempt to leave the property, after the fight.
However, law enforcement moved quickly, and the Public Security Police (PSP) were able to apprehend the offender.
The police started looking into the facts surrounding the incident as soon as they arrived at the scene.
One worker at Angel Coffee, a shop next to the crime scene, claims that when she arrived at work on Saturday, she saw something unsettling.
She described what had happened to her and said, “I came by bus, half past seven, I crossed the zebra crossing and saw the body inside the accommodation, already closed, on the floor. It was the only thing I saw. What caught my attention was the rubbish bin being out of place.”
The worker, who did not know the victim or the offender, thought back on her experience and said, “I know that yesterday I helped two young men who entered the hostel, but I don't know if they are the ones. As a rule, local accommodation customers come here because this is a cafe that opens early and closes late, but there has never been anything like this.”
