Police Detain Person Connected To Professor at Babcock University's Murder

REGARDING the murder of Yinka Olowojobi, a lecturer at Babcock University, and the subsequent kidnapping of two more people at an event facility in Iperu Remo, the Ogun State Police Command has taken into custody a man known as Awada Ishaya.

This new revelation was verified on Monday, April 22 by Omolola Odutola, the command's public relations officer.

Adding, “A suspicious coincidence led the police to arrest one Awada Ishaya 'm' of Plateau State, who was employed two weeks ago when the event center was launched as a security man for further interrogation.”

Eyewitnesses claimed that about eight black-clad gunmen invaded the Ajadeh Event Centre and shot Olowojobi to death after he refused to be taken into custody.

The tragedy happened on Friday, April 19, and it was followed by shock and anxiety.

The police have reacted quickly, actively following the offenders and stepping up efforts to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped victims.

A man known only as Abubakar died in a violent brawl at a birthday celebration in Ibafo, in a different but equally tragic incident.

There have been calls for more alertness and preventative measures to stop similar incidents in the future as a result of the incident, which has raised general concerns about safety and security in the area.

However, despite the ongoing investigations and the community's challenges following these incidents, there is a renewed focus on guaranteeing everyone's safety and a general sense of hope for justice.
