Miss Universe Refutes Rumors That Saudi Arabia Will Compete In The Competition In 2024

THE Miss Universe Organization has refuted the widely circulated rumors of Saudi Arabia's alleged involvement in the pageant's 2024 edition.

Rumy Alqahtani, a Saudi model, recently made waves on social media when she revealed that her nation would compete in the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.

According to the organization, there has never been a selection procedure carried out in Saudi Arabia, and any allegations to the contrary are untrue.

“The selection of contestants to represent their respective countries in the Miss Universe competition is a rigorous process that adheres strictly to our policies and guidelines,” stated the organizers of Miss Universe.

Ms. Alqahtani, who represented Saudi Arabia in a number of international competitions, such as Miss Arab Peace, Miss Planet, and Miss Middle East, has not responded to the organization's denial or removed her Miss Universe participation post.

This September, in Mexico, is scheduled to host the 2024 Miss Universe pageant. More than a hundred competitors from all over the world will compete.

The organization emphasized that the finalists are chosen through a rigorous procedure that strives for equity and openness.

“Each country's selection is carried out by established criteria and regulations, ensuring fairness and transparency in selecting participants,” added the statement.

Saudi Arabia is presently going through a stringent screening procedure for possible participation, according to the Miss Universe Organization, even though the kingdom's participation has not yet been officially announced.

Saudi Arabia will not have this opportunity to join our prestigious pageant until this is final and confirmed by our approval committee,” the statement said.

MUO emphasized that more than 100 contestants from different countries would compete in the next Miss Universe pageant, which will take place in Mexico.

The organization also restated its commitment to showcasing inclusivity and diversity on a worldwide scale while honoring the abilities and beauty of women from all backgrounds.

The 27-year-old beauty was scheduled to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant prior to the disclaimer, which was a departure from its customarily conservative stance on international pageants.
