EPL: Manchester United Escapes Defeat, Everton Wins Liverpool
On Wednesday, Everton defeated rivals Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison Park in their English Premier League (EPL) derby. Everton scored one in each half of the match.
In a Merseyside derby Liverpool had dominated in recent years, goals from Brantwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin bolstered the Toffees' EPL survival while undermining the Reds' title challenge.
On minute 27, Everton took the lead as Liverpool was unable to clear the back. Brantwaite punished the guests by putting the ball into the net for a 1-0 victory.
Despite controlling possession, a lackluster Liverpool did not look particularly dangerous, and Calvert-Lewin punished them for a clumsy attack when the England international headed into the goal off a corner kick delivered by Dwight McNeil.
