Davido Unveils New Record Label, New Signees
David ‘Davido' Adeleke |
DAVID Adeleke, often known as Davido, has shared his plans for the musicians that are signed to his record company, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
The Afrobeats artist just started a new label called Nine+ Records in collaboration with United Masters, a US distribution business.
According to Davido, the label wants to reach a global audience by branching out beyond Afrobeats.
He also mentioned as his reasons for the collaboration his love of developing new talent and helping budding musicians overcome obstacles in the music business.
“Oh yeah, everything. R&B, trap, etc. I am going to start in Africa but I can see us going all the way,” he said.
Davido announced on his Twitter page that every musician signed to DMW would be moved to the new label.
“All DMW artistes would be moved to Nine+ Records. Clearing the air,” he said.
The singer founded DMW in April of 2016.
Musicians including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo have called the record label home.
Ayanfe, Liya, SayTheyCallMESG, B-Red, Deekay, May D, Deinde, Yonda, Idowest, DJ ECool, and Danagog are among the other artists who signed with DMW.
Davido introduced two new artists, Morravey and Logos Olori, and renamed his label as DMW 2.0 in March.
