Tinubu Withdraws Ruby Onwudiwe's Nomination As CBN Board Member After Complaints From Top APC Member
Ruby Onwudiwe's nomination for the CBN Board has been withdrawn by Tinubu, according to WesternPost, following concerns from prominent APC members regarding Ruby's endorsement of Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential contest.
Senators Opeyemi Bamidele and Solomon Adeola brought up the improperness of the nomination to President Tinubu in his meeting with Senate President Akpabio and other senators last night.
Following the announcement of her nomination, a few prominent APC supporters had earlier voiced their strong opposition to the nomination of an opposition person to the position of head of the national bank, arguing that it was irregular.
It is currently anticipated that Tinubu will present a new South East nominee.
