Military Promises To Rescue Kidnapped Students From Kaduna School

More than 200 pupils were recently kidnapped by gunmen in Kaduna State, and the military has promised to free them.

The military is dedicated to freeing all kidnapped victims, according to Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, who was speaking at a news conference in Abuja about the Armed Forces' recent activities.

However, the defense spokesperson at the event on Thursday accused school owners of neglecting to promptly notify security officials of kidnapping incidents.

He further claimed that their defiance to orders to leave the camp in search of firewood without alerting camp administrators was the reason behind the recent kidnapping of some internally displaced people in Gamboru-Ngala, Borno State.

Nigerian officials have been quick to remark following the kidnapping of 287 students in Kaduna State.

Following the kidnapping, President Bola Tinubu ordered security services to find the abductors and free the students, announcing that his administration would not pay a ransom.

This was stated on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja by Muhammad Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.

He informed State House Correspondents that President Tinubu had also reminded the defense ministry of his order to guarantee the children's safe rescue and return to their homes.

The minister reaffirmed that kidnapping—especially mass abductions—will not be allowed under the present administration.
