Hisbah Has Detained 11 Peope In Kano For Eating Instead Of Fasting
Hisbah has arrested eleven people in Kano for breaking the Ramadan fast by eating during the fast.
Hisbah conducted arrests during its annual Ramadan enforcement operations, part of which involved conducting searches at marketplaces and restaurants.
Hisbah's spokesperson, Lawal Fagge, stated that eleven males and one woman were taken into custody. The woman was observed consuming meals from her stand where she sold groundnuts.
He said that there had been arrests around the city, particularly near the marketplaces. Fagge added that although non-Muslims are not required to abide by these regulations, it may be against the law for them to sell food to Muslims while they are fasting.
