Full List Nigeria's State With Highest Percentage Of Children Out Of School

Nigeria's top three states with the greatest proportion of children  not attending school

The problem of children who are not in school is a serious worry in Nigeria, as it prevents many young brains from getting an education. The gravity of this situation is highlighted by recent statistics from The Cable Index, which shows the top three states with the largest percentage of children not in school.

With concerning percentages of 67.6%, 66.4%, and 62.9% of children aged 6 to 15 not attending school, respectively, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Yobe stand out. These figures depict a dismal picture of the state of education, highlighting systemic issues that impede kids' ability to learn and achieve.

Yobe State is not far behind, with over two-thirds of its kids not having access to education. Due to the state's history of banditry, education has been hampered and safety has frequently taken precedence over education. Furthermore, issues like child labor and early marriages exacerbate the situation by imprisoning communities in cycles of poverty and illiteracy.

This crisis has a significant effect on the future prosperity of the country as well as the current generation. Nigeria runs the risk of squandering the potential of millions of young people and delaying socioeconomic growth in the absence of coordinated efforts and long-term fixes.
