Emefiele's Wife Declared Wanted For 'Stealing'
Margaret Emefiele, the wife of the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been listed as wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to suspicions of money laundering.
The commission announced late Friday via X (previously Twitter) that Emefiele's wife, Anita J. Omoile, and her husband, Jonathan Omoile, were wanted.
The post said the three “are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly conspiring with a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to convert huge sums of money belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria and committed felony to wit: obtaining money by false pretences and stealing contrary to and punishable under Section 411, 287 and 314 of the criminal law of lagos state.”
The EFCC advised anyone with pertinent information regarding their whereabouts to get in touch with them.
