Borno State Governor Launches Food Aid Initiative, Targets 100,000 Families
Governor Zulum of Borno announces the distribution of food items to 100,000 families in an effort to lessen the hardship brought on by the escalating cost of food and other necessities.
100 000 households were given two bags, one containing 25 kg of rice and the other containing 25 kg of maize.
He underscored his commitment, saying, “As long as I am the Governor of Borno State, the distribution of palliative will continue. Concurrently, we will invest in commercial and subsistence agriculture.”
Professor Zulum is another Governor that deserves national recognition.
A few days ago, he gave 447 homes, food, and other necessities to roughly 197 households who had been forced to flee their homes in the Borno State community of Dalori due to attacks by Boko Haram terrorists. The community of resettlement had water facilities, a hospital, and a school.
Governor Zulum declared, “We are flagging off the distribution of food items to 100,000 households from Maiduguri Metropolitan and its environs,” reiterating his administration's commitment to putting the welfare of the people, especially those severely affected by the Boko Haram insurgency, first. Compared to other communities, these have experienced considerable challenges.
He will also offer business assistance and farming kits for the returnees.
The governor, however, promised to punish anyone who tried to politicize the ongoing food crisis and issued a strong warning against undermining peacebuilding efforts.
