American YouTuber Kai Cenat plans to build a school for kids in the Makoko slum of Lagos.
YouTuber and video producer Kai Cenat, an American, has revealed his intention to open a school for kids in Makoko, a well-known floating slum in Lagos, Nigeria.
Cenat made his choice after making a recent trip to the region and giving a large donation of money to help the locals.
A few weeks ago, Cenat traveled to Nigeria and saw firsthand the difficult living circumstances in Makoko.
Davido, a well-known music legend from Nigeria, met him and Shanks Comics gave him a warm welcome throughout his stay.
In a video message to his fans, Cenat reaffirmed his commitment to the educational endeavor and asked anyone who could provide knowledge or high-quality equipment to do so.
“We are officially commencing the process of constructing a new school for the children here in Makoko,” Cenat declared, highlighting the region's critical need for infrastructure related to education.
Social media users have responded to the idea in a flutter, with many applauding Cenat's attempts to improve the lives of Makoko's youth.
Appreciation for Cenat's actions came from Twitter user @Alambajugu, who said, “Imagine someone who has only visited this country once is undertaking what the government could not accomplish in six decades.”
