All African Games: Victories Recorded By Flying Eagles And Falconets


The Flying Eagles and Falconets, Nigeria's football teams competing in the All African Games, both prevailed in their games late on Monday.


Following to goals from Loveth Edeh, Motunrayo Ezekiel, Chioma Olise, and an own goal, the Falconets thrashed Senegal 4-0 to advance to the Games semifinal.


Coach Christopher Danjuma's women's team won Group B and advanced to the next round of the Games a few days after winning their opening match 2-0 over Morocco.


Flying Eagles Soar Over Sudan


The Falconets triumphed handily, but their male counterparts had to overcome Sudan with a lone goal to win after suffering a startling 2-1 loss to Tanzania in their opening game.


The game against Sudan was crucial to Nigeria's chances of advancing to the next round of the competition. However, the Flying Eagles' hopes of moving on to the next round were restored when Sadiq Isiyiaka converted from the spot.


Following Monday's match, Ladan Bosso's boys will take on Senegal in their last group game with qualification for the next round on the line.
