18 People Hurt In An Explosion At A Russian Power Plant
According to local authorities, an explosion that rocked a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) in Shagonar, Tuva Republic, Russia, on Wednesday left eighteen people wounded.
“At present, 18 people have been hospitalised.
“Out of these, six are in critical condition. All the injured are being transported to Kyzyl hospitals,” Vladislav Khovalyg said.
The leader of the Tuva Republic, Mr. Khovalygis, stated that 21 employees of the CHPP were engaged in work at the time of the explosion.
The remaining three people were the target of search efforts.
The boiler room building's fuel supply point, which had a belt container, was the only location where the explosion occurred.
The local Ministry of Emergency Situations was cited in the TASS report as stating that the fire was contained to an area of 50 square meters and that the boilers were undamaged.
