Former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has emerged victorious in the Labour Party Edo State Gubernatorial primary.

Olumide Akpata, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has won Edo State's Labour Party governorship primary.
The exercise was held on Friday at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, located on Airport Road in Benin City, the capital of Edo State. Akpata was declared the winner after receiving 316 votes in total.
His triumph occurs months after he indicated interest in running for the Labour Party's governorship in Edo State.
