Buhari's policies are the reason you are suffering, President Tinubu is not to blame says Senator Adams Oshiomhole tells the people of Nigeria.

According to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North, Nigerians are still dealing with the “consequences” of the “reckless” policies that former President Muhammadu Buhari implemented.

Oshiomhole stated that President Bola Tinubu shouldn't be held accountable for the wise or foolish decisions made by the previous government in an interview that aired on Channels Television on Sunday. The All Progressives Congress (APC), the senator's party, was questioned during the interview about whether or not it was responsible for Nigeria's current economic downturn.

In response, Oshiomhole stated that he always prioritizes national interest over partisan interests and criticized the Buhari administration for certain of its policies. He described how the previous administration's currency redesign policy, which he claimed caused Nigerians great suffering, was something he rejected.

“My first loyalty is to the Nigerian nation. At some point, before the last president left office, I lamented loudly what I saw as reckless policies that were designed to dehumanise the population that was already in pain. I felt that it is not what the then president promised. I dissociated myself from those policies and I'm happy that I was not the only one.

“There were governors who approached the court to denounce some of those policies. It is the long term consequences of those policies that we are still grappling with now.”

He went on to say that even though his party led the previous administration, Tinubu was neither an advisor nor a member of the cabinet.

“Yes, it is our party platform. Like Tinubu also said, he was not a minister or adviser. He never took a contract in that government and he cannot be held responsible for what the government did right or wrong,” he added.
