Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), says President Bola Tinubu will be watching the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

President Bola Tinubu will attend the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, according to Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football Federations, or CAF.

The match between Nigeria and hosts Cote d'Ivoire will take place at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, February 11.

On Friday, February 9, at a press conference in Abidjan, Motsepe stated “I was told the President of Nigeria is coming. I was sitting next to the Vice President during the Nigeria-South Africa game.

“While I can't show excitement when any nation scores, they said they could see my happiness. And yes, I am always happy.”

Asked about the possibility of Africa hosting the World Cup again, Motsepe replied: “Nigeria must put in a bid. I will have a conversation with president Tinubu about it.”
