Access Bank Mourns Wigwe Herbert

Access Bank has released a statement confirming the death of Herbert Wigwe, founding Group CEO, alongside his wife, son and three others.

The parent company of Access Bank Plc, Access Corporation, lost its CEO, Mr. Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, in a helicopter crash in the United States on Saturday. Access Bank Plc has expressed its condolences for his passing.

The bank said goodbye to Wigwe, a visionary leader, in a statement on Sunday via its X handle, @myaccessbank. The statement also noted that Wigwe's legacy will endure.

“Today, we bid farewell to a visionary leader, @Herbert Wigwe, whose passion and unwavering commitment to excellence transformed Access into a global powerhouse,” the Bank said.

“His legacy of excellence and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Herbert Wigwe. Your impact will forever be felt.”
