Police engage kidnappers of the Lagos PDP chair in a gunfight, killing one woman and injuring others

Bilikisu Kazeem, 37, passed away after being shot during a gunfight between police and abductors on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

In a statement released on Saturday, January 27, Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State police spokesperson, stated that during the confrontation, nine out of ten hostages were freed from the suspected kidnappers.

Recall that on Friday, robbers kidnapped a number of travelers on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, including Philip Aivoji, the PDP's state chairman for Lagos.

Odutola claims that nine of the ten hostages were freed as a result of the police's intervention, leaving only the PDP chairman behind.

Speaking about the recorded casualties, Odutola stated,  “A White Mazda Bus registered as LSR 288 XE was slightly damaged, while Eunice Afolake Osalusi ‘f,’ Erinfolami Samuel ‘m,’ Obafemi Da Altantra ‘m’ and Adeyinka Mathew sustained non-ife threatening bullet injuries in their escape attempts, they are recuperating and stable in hospital.”

Sadly, one Bilikisu Kazeem “f” aged 37years, gave up the ghost before getting to the hospital. Her remains was immediately collected by her relatives who were conveying her to the hospital, declining any autopsy examination from the police.

Exhibits recovered from the scene to include: “one AK47 Magazine containing 28 live ammunition believed to belong to the hoodlums, handsets and a car key.”
