MOHBAD'S DEATH: ‘We Are Yet To Receive Mohbad's Autopsy’ — Lagos Police
Police say they haven't received Mohbad's autopsy report yet
Adegoke Fayoade, the commissioner of police in Lagos, stated yesterday that the results of the musician Lerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad,'s overseas toxicology test were still pending.
In response to a query regarding the status of the singer's death investigation, he revealed this.
Contrary to rumors, Fayoade stated that the toxicology results were what was being awaited. She also added that the work was done overseas because during the ENDSARS violence in Lagos, thugs destroyed the state-of-the-art forensic laboratory.
He claimed that after the singer's body was exhumed for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and obtain vital evidence, the police opened a homicide investigation.
“You will recall that some years back, the Lagos State Government built a state-of-the-art laboratory, however quite unfortunately, the same laboratory worth millions of naira was destroyed by urchins during the EndSars protest.
“If that laboratory was not destroyed we would not have had cause to send the sample from the deceased to the US for toxicology examination.
“It is sad to say that we are yet to receive the toxicology report. We are still awaiting the arrival of the report from the US. We will make public the outcome when we receive it,” he said.
Mohbad, 27, passed away on September 12 under dubious circumstances, and the following day he was laid to rest in secret.
When it was discovered that the nurse giving him the vaccination was not licensed, she was taken into custody.
In response to public outcry, the police formed a panel to look into his passing. Some tests were carried out after his body was exhumed.
