Heavy Security At Plateau Assembly Following 16 Sacks PDP Lawmakers Vow To Resume Meeting

Police Command has increased security measures at Plateau state's House of Assembly

In anticipation of the start of legislative business on Tuesday, there is a noticeable police presence in the area of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

According to Politics Nigeria, the Plateau State Police Command has increased security surrounding the location in response to the 16 former PDP lawmakers' decision to continue serving in office despite being fired by the Appeal Court.

As early as 5 am, heavily armed police officers were stationed at Old Government House in Jos, the location of the meeting.

It was discovered that the security guards had been sent in to guard against thugs breaking into the venue.

Political observers have voiced concerns about a potential confrontation between the 16 PDP lawmakers dismissed by the Court of Appeal and the lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were deemed the winners by the Court of Appeal.

As of the time this report was written, lawmakers had not yet shown up for plenary.
