GLO Does Not Owe MTN
Nigerian telecommunications company, Globacom Ltd has denied the claim regarding unpaid connection charges owed to MTN
There is evidence now available to refute the rumors circulating that Globacom owes MTN a fictitious debt.
Investigations reveal that the narrative is part of a smear campaign against Nigeria's fully indigenous telecom provider, which has revolutionized communication access across the board.
We were told by a source that N1.6 billion was owed, but that amount had already been paid without any issues. We were left wondering where the people who were spreading false information obtained their information. Could this have been yet another instance of incompetence and purposeful lying?
“It is either the act is deliberate or gross ineptitude on the part of the detractors, who find it difficult to do ordinary cross checking of facts. Glo does not owe MTN, not anybody.” the source said.
As a result, Nigerians have urged President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to step in and put an end to the witch hunt against the country's only wholly owned telecommunications company.
Remember that Glo broke the monopoly of the other foreign telecom companies operating in Nigeria by being the first to introduce the pay per second form of billing.
