Rivers State Commissioner For Works Resigns Amid Wike, Fubara Rift
Four Rivers commissioners resign as the Wike-Fubara feud intensifies
The four commissioners who resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara's cabinet—Dr. George-Kelly Alabo, the commissioner for works; Mrs. Inime Chinwenwo-Aguma, the commissioner for social welfare and rehabilitation; Isaac Kamalu, the commissioner for finance; and Emeka Woke, the commissioner for special duties—are contributing to the worsening crisis in Rivers State.
Their resignations come after that of Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.
Former governor Nyesom Wike's ardent supporter Dr. Alabo justified his resignation by citing his moral principles, personal philosophy, and professional ethics.
The resignation letters of each commissioner conveyed their appreciation for the chance to serve.
