The Federal Government has selected well-known transportation companies to receive a 50% transport subsidy in an effort to lessen the financial burden of transportation expenses during the holiday season. Beneficiaries of this initiative include God is Good (GIG) Motors, Chisco Transport, Young Shall Grow Motors, God Bless Ezenwata, and Area Motors.
President Bola Tinubu's Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed this development on Thursday via his X handle, formerly known as Twitter.
Onanuga also provided a list of the specific routes that will be covered by this subsidy, which included 23 additional government-designated routes in addition to well-known ones like Lagos-Kano, Lagos-Enugu, Lagos-Nsukka, Onitsha-Jos, and Abuja-Sokoto.

One user, CREDO, tweeted, “I hope those who will enjoy this benefit will come here and testify that they really did. Let me for once see what this government said and did.”
Another user, @Peter, responded by saying he was hoping that airlines like Air Peace, NGEagle, and Green Africa would be added to the list of airlines that receive subsidies because he thought Nigerians would value their services.
The purpose of this subsidy program is to help travelers during the holiday season and make it easier for more reasonably priced modes of transportation to operate on the approved routes.
