Singers Ashanti and Nelly are reportedly expecting a child together
When Ashanti and her companion went to Nelly's Black and White Ball in St. Louis over the weekend, it initially raised rumors that she was pregnant. While performing live with Nelly, the “Only U” singer placed her hand on her stomach, and he reciprocated.
Ashanti will be first-time parent with her boyfriend, Nelly, who also has his daughter Chanelle, 29, and son Cornell Haynes III, 24.
The pair, who reconciled this year ten years after splitting up in 2013, are reportedly expecting a kid after making a pregnancy hint at Nelly's Black and White Ball on Sunday. During their combined performance at the occasion, Nelly had placed his hand on Ashanti's stomach.
Back in February, when they were seen wearing identical chains, Nelly and Ashanti initially gave rise to dating rumors. Afterwards, in April, they were seen holding hands at a boxing bout.
Nelly and Ashanti have a history of romantic involvement. As a result, they started dating in 2003 and dated for 11 years before splitting up in 2014. When Irv Gotti stated on a podcast that he was disappointed to learn that Ashanti had started dating Nelly after him, it brought attention to their romance in August of last year. Subsequently, Nelly seemed to make fun of Irv while performing with Ashanti. Then in September, Nelly declared during an interview on Philo TV's Boss Moves with Rasheeda that he and Ashanti were back together, calling it “cool again.”
