"We've Arrested Ajaero's Attackers And Have Commenced Investigations" - NSA Begs The Labour Leader


National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, on Wednesday apologised to the Nigeria Labour Congress over the physical attack on President Ajaero 


The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, was attacked on November 1 in the Imo State capital of Owerri. On Wednesday, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu expressed regret to the incident.


According to Ribadu, the federal government expresses sadness for the Imo event and condemns it completely, pointing out that it violates the rule of law and the values of free speech and association that President Tinubu and his administration uphold.


"... The Federal Government will never condone such an act.


"As a fallout of the incident relevant authorities were directed to conduct thorough investigation into the circumstances sorrounding the assault and bring to book the culprits. Available update indicates that some arrests have already been made in this regard. The outcome of the investigation will be made public as soon as it is concluded."
