Ex-British PM David Cameron Returns To Govt As Foreign Secretary
David Cameron, the former prime minister of Great Britain, is appointed foreign secretary by Sunak
Following Suella Braverman's unexpected resignation as interior minister, Cameron was spotted entering No. 10, the official residence and office of the British prime minister, to meet with Sunak. Downing Street then confirmed the appointment.
Braverman's replacement was James Cleverly, a former foreign secretary.
The overhaul occurred in an effort by Sunak to regain control, as the opposition Labour Party was lagging the incumbent Conservative Party in surveys prior to a general election that was scheduled for January 2025.
Leading Britain through the contentious Brexit referendum, which ultimately resulted in his resignation, Cameron led the country as prime minister from 2010 to 2016.
