Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle United, has provided an explanation for why his club upset Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 on Wednesday in their UEFA Champions League match.

Howe watched as Newcastle defeated PSG at St. James' Park thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, and Fabian Schar.

Howe claimed in a post-game interview that Newcastle's victory over PSG was a result of his players' outstanding performance against the Ligue 1 powerhouses from France.

"We are really pleased. It was a brilliant effort from the players," Howe told CBS Sports.

"It was a different game. It was a cat and mouse between the two, we were trying to press them and they were trying to play through us.

"We were successful a couple of times which led to big goals for us, so I am delighted with the players* commitment."

"I think we came here with a lot more confident mood. We wanted to be ourselves and then take the result whatever it is," he added.
