Governor Alex Otti of Abia State achieved two victories when the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate Ikechi Emenike's case was rejected by the governorship election petition tribunal, which was sitting in Umuahia.

In its decision, the tribunal dismissed Emenike's complaint against Labour Party Governor Alex Otti, claiming it lacked merit.

APC member before joining LP, Otti allegedly did not resign from the APC, according to Emenike, who was contesting Otti's statement that he was the legitimately elected governor of Abia.

Additionally, he asserted that at the time of his nomination as the party's candidate, Alex Otti's name was not on the LP register.

The APC leader included INEC, Okey Ahaiwe of the PDP, Enyinnaya Nwafor of the YPP, and other parties in his plea.

However, the tribunal stated that the petitions lacked substance and were unfamiliar to jurisprudence when it delivered its ruling at about 6 o'clock in the evening.

The decision was made roughly six hours after the tribunal also rejected the plea filed by Okey Ahaiwe, the PDP candidate for the March 18 election.
