President Tinubu Introduces Conditional Cash Transfers For 15 Million Households

President Bola Tinubu has introduced the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer for 15 million households, in an effort to mitigate the impact of the termination of fuel subsidies.

The launching took place in Abuja at the Press Gallery of the State House, on Tuesday, October 17

Recall that on October 1, 2023, the President introduced the cash transfer scheme, saying it would target vulnerable persons, during his first Independence Day broadcast to Nigerians.

According to the minister of humanitarian affairs, the 15 million families represent 62 million Nigerians.

She stated that for three months, a monthly transfer of N25,000 would be made to the recipients, giving them a total of N75,000 apiece.
