Modou Adams, a British model and Tik Toker who flaunted his glamorous lifestyle on social media, was discovered trying to smuggle cocaine out of Peru and spent nearly seven years in prison.

The BBC reports that on September 30, Adams was stopped at the Jorge Chávez International Airport with 2.9 kg (6.4 lb) of cocaine concealed in his luggage.

The 25-year-old was sentenced to six years and eight months prisonment in Peru. A court announcement stated that the drygs were going to the United Kingdom. According to the statement made last week by the Superior Court of Justice of Callao, during a search, authorities discovered the drugs concealed within the back of his bag.

According to the court, he admitted to the drug smuggling accusation and was sentenced along with a fine. The Supreme Court of Peru claimed in a statement on X, the former Twitter, that Adams was imprisoned for organizing the shipment of almost 3 kilograms of cocaine to London. Additionally, a photo-shopped image of Adams in jail was shared.

Adams was pictured visiting Machu Picchu, a well-known tourist site in Peru that is reached by the Inca Trail, in the most recent pictures he shared on social media.

Anti-drug prosecutor Lincoln Fuentes was cited by the local media as claiming that this was not the model's first time bringing drugs out of the nation. A representative for the UK Foreign Office stated that the agency was "in contact with the local authorities" and was "supporting a British man who was arrested in Peru."
