Ligue 1: Four PSG Players Banned Over Anti-Gay Chant
PSG players suspended from four
Due to their participation in homophobic chants, four Paris Saint-Germain players have been suspended.
They are Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, Achraf Hakimi, and Layvin Kurzawa.
Following PSG's 4-0 victory over Marseille at Parc des Princes, the quartet joined the PSG fans in a homophobic song.
The four players are heard purportedly yelling, "Marseillais, go f*ck your mothers,' in a video that went viral on social media video.
Since then, Dembele, Hakimi, Kurzawa, and Muani have all expressed regret for their behavior.
In addition, PSG has been instructed to close the renowned Auteuil stand for at least one game due to homophobic slurs directed towards Marseille supporters.
The club condemned the France FA's decision after promising to "meet its partners on this vital issue" in late September.
"Paris Saint-Germain deplores that the disciplinary committee has decided to apply an extraordinary sanction against the club by pronouncing the closure of the Auteuil stand for two matches, one of which will be suspended."
