Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has discussed how she was passed up for significant roles when she was a fledgling actor because she was labeled as "not fine."

Akindele claimed she was denied prominent roles even in Yoruba indigenous films due to her physical appearance in the most recent episode of the TokeMoments podcast, presented by Toke Makinwa.

She described how Iyabo Ojo, an actress, frequently stepped in to support her during her arguments with producers who had rejected her due to her appearance.

The actor of "Jenifa Diary" claimed that producers were only giving her little roles, which caused her to cry.

"I remember people telling me, 'You are not fine. You don't have ass. You don't have boobs. You will not be in this film," she recalled.

"And, I remember crying. A lot of times I would cry, break down, get into the bathroom and cry."
