The Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) team has been instructed by Vice President Kashim Shettima to make sure that the initiative starts by the end of November.

Shettima issued the order on Friday during a meeting in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where the i-DICE team provided him an update on their progress.

He noted that the administration suggested November 2023 as the launch date for the $617.7 million i- DICE Investment initiative, saying President Bola Tinubu's administration was adamant about keeping its commitment to generate millions of jobs in Nigeria's technology sector.

Shettima emphasized the significance of the project to the Federal Government's campaign for digital jobs and stated that the administration was adamant about keeping its commitments to Nigerians.

Therefore, he urged all of the program's partners to ensure careful use of the monies.

He thinks the $617.7 million initiative has the potential to shift the course of events.

"The peculiarity of the challenges we face in the country demands that we have to create jobs for our teeming youths to address the crises associated with youth unemployment.

"I want to appeal to all of us here to unite and see that this programme takes off latest by the end of November this year.

The vice president gave the technical committee, program staff, and international partners assurances that they would get all necessary support.

"I am interested in getting a weekly update on what is being done to kick- start this programme.

"We also need to spread out to cover the whole country so that there is inclusivity.

"If we judiciously utilise these funds, the target impact and anticipated benefits will be immense."

"We mean business; my boss, President Bola Tinubu, is passionate about the transformation of this country.

“So, you have nothing to worry about the government's support," Vice- President Shettima said.
