Court Sentences Lagos Doctor To Life Imprisonment For Raping Wife's Niece

Judge Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence court convicted Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, the medical director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, guilty of raping his wife's niece on Tuesday.

The victim's evidence and the medical expert who evaluated her were found to be believable, according to the judge.

Olaleye's confessing admission and his wife's exchange of emails and WhatsApp chats, he said, were sufficient proof against him.

According to Justice Oshodi, the statement and undertaking the defendant signed at Anthony Police Station with his attorney Olalekan Buruji and his NBA seal show that the victim was raped and forced to suck the defendant's genitalia.

He was found guilty of defiling and sexually penetrating a 15-year-old minor by Oshodi.

The judge ruled that all of the evidence presented to the court supported the victim's testimony and that the prosecution had established its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
