A video of an Indian father celebrating his divorced daughter's return home with a lavish party following the breakdown of their marriage has gone viral.

Prem Gupta's daughter Sakshi Gupta married engineer Sachin Kumar in April 2022. But she soon started experiencing abuse from him and her in-laws.

After spending months attempting to resolve the issue. When she told her father about her predicament, he encouraged her to dissolve her marriage and stood by his daughter.

In defiance of tradition, Jharkhandi dad Prem Gupta welcomed his daughter back with a baraat.

The father had planned a Baraat procession with drums and fireworks to celebrate his daughter's return.

Sakshi was greeted by a cheering group of people as she rolled her luggage back home.

Gupta revealed that Kumar and his family had repeatedly abused his daughter, even going so far as to have her "thrown out" of her married house.

Saski discovered after a year of marriage that her spouse had been married twice before but had kept it a secret from her.

She persisted in her attempts to keep the marriage together, but her in-laws' and husband's abuse grew more intense.

Upon discovering his daughter's situation, her father backed her in her divorce proceedings and planned a lavish baraat to ceremoniously greet her return home.

Gupta posted a 10-minute video of his daughter's welcome-back celebration on Facebook; "We get our daughters married with pomp and show. But what if the spouse and family turn out to be wrong or do wrong things? Then we should bring our daughters back home with the same respect and dignity because daughters are very precious."
