Chicago University: Tinubu Requests That Atiku Alone Be Given The Certificate By The US Court

Tinubu requests that the US Court only provide the certificate to Atiku; he forbids CSU from submitting the transcript and other documents
Finally, President Bola Tinubu has consented to a federal judge in the United States of America only awarding Atiku Abubakar's university diploma.
However, the president asked with Judge Nancy Maldonado to prevent Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from accessing any further information, particularly the gender and admission records.
The continuing legal dispute taking place before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago was the context for Tinubu's prayers on Monday.
Abubakar filed the lawsuit in an effort to show through the courts that Tinubu was ineligible to be president of Nigeria despite being elected in February 2023.
After Abubakar and Peter Obi, who served as his running mate in the 2019 election, fell out, their potential votes were split into at least two parts, which allowed Tinubu to win the election by the narrowest margin possible on February 25. Tinubu received 36% of the vote.
After narrowly avoiding full disclosure on September 21 by claiming serious bodily harm to himself in order to get a stay of a magistrate judge's ruling on September 19, Tinubu agreed to have his certificate released.
"There is harm in allowing discovery on issues and documents outside the diploma," Mr Tinubu's lawyers said in their full briefing to the court seeking a review of Judge Jeffrey Gilbert's order by Ms Maldonado, a district judge.
After college transcripts showed that the school enrolled a female Bola Tinubu from Southwest College Chicago in 1977, the identities of those admitted to Chicago State University in the 1970s became a heated topic.
Even though Tinubu's attorneys, Victor Henderson and Christopher Carmichael, insisted that the documents Abubakar sought wouldn't be admissible at the Supreme Court, they nevertheless seemed to be anticipating a negative outcome and as a result gave the judge an alternative direction, ordering the school to strictly certify the certificate the president had submitted to run for office.
Gilbert's decision from last week mandated that CSU officials swear under oath that the certificate Tinubu presented in Nigeria was authentic.
The officials were also required to provide communications pertaining to a letter the university sent to Mr. Tinubu in 2022 as well as a certificate granted to a CSU graduate in 1979 with the graduate's identity deleted.
Tinubu claimed that Abubakar was merely on a fishing expedition to feed online conspiracy theories and expressed concern that permitting the deposition of CSU officials to proceed could cause significant, irreparable damage to his life.
A man named Olajide Adeniji submitted an affidavit in today's filing claiming to have gone to school with Mr. Tinubu from 1977 to 1979.
