WE'LL DILIGENTLY AND IMPARTIALLY CONSIDER YOUR REQUESTS, COURT INFORMS ATIKU, OBI, AND OTHERS

Atiku Abubakar, Bola Ahmed, Peter Obi

Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election, according to petitions filed with the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which stated as much on Monday in Abuja.

At the first session of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, the court's chairman, provided the assurance.

When it comes up in the decisions on the petitions, he added, the court would treat all parties fairly.

However, he urged the petitioners' attorneys to forgo pointless technicalities, sentiments, emotions, and time-wasting arguments when defending their individual clients.

The petitions were submitted by a former vice president and candidate for president of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, among others.

The attorneys' cooperation was guaranteed to the court by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, who is representing Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, and Chief Chris Uche SAN, who is representing Atiku Abubakar.

As of the time of this report, Senator Victor Umeh, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, and Julius Abure, the party's factional national chairman, have all arrived in court.

Observation shows that more than 200 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANS) are also present in the courtroom to represent their separate clients.
