Tinubu Will Officially Commission The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway On June 30

According to Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway would be officially opened by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Fashola hinted at the date change during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Tuesday, saying the repaired dual-carriageway's launch would now take place on June 30.

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the special FEC that was held yesterday at the State House in Abuja.

The project's official opening was postponed because Julius Berger Nigeria was unable to complete it.

Fashola remarked: ""There is a critical section in the four-kilometre last mile to Lagos. It is technical but what has delayed it is that we found black cutting soil under the pavement.

"We have decided that we will remove it and replace it so that we do a proper job instead of being in a hurry to commission it. That will be deferred to the next administration and the expected completion date is the 30th day of June."
