Seun Kuti Recalls His Time Spent In Prison
"They put me in cold floor..."
Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician nominated for a Grammy, has spoken about his time spent in police custody.
According to the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court's orders, the singer was remanded in the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for assaulting a police officer in a widely circulated video.
After eight days in custody, Kuti received bail on Tuesday.
On Friday, Kuti detailed his traumatic incarceration experience on his Instagram story.
He claimed that he was forced to lie down on a "hard, cold floor, among prisoners."
On the other hand, he continued, it was "still better than sitting in the devil's house with politicians."
