Seun Kuti Departs Nigeria After Police Incident
Seun Kuti, a Grammy-nominated afrobeat singer, left the country just 48 hours after being released from jail.
As previously reported, the singer who had been held in detention for eight days for allegedly assaulting a police officer in a viral video was released on bail on Tuesday. The singer had been held on remand at the State Criminal, Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
Due to the magistrate's absence, the proceedings in Kuti's trial at the Chief Magistrate Court Yaba in Lagos were postponed until July 3, 2023.
The musician revealed via his Instagram account on Thursday that his Europe tour would begin in Switzerland.
He posted a photo of himself in an aircraft with the caption, "Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich."
