Following deliberations, the Governors of the South-East decided to rename the Second Niger Bridge in honor of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bashir Ahmad, the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, tweeted on Tuesday to confirm the news and to add that the bridge would be officially opened today.

The Second Niger Bridge will now be known as the Buhari Second Niger Bridge, according to his tweet. President Muhammadu Buhari today gave the Muhammadu Buhari Bridge its official commission.
